Katoomba high school has many resources and facilties, including large open spaces. The area to the north of the school known as Birriban, was affected by a bush fire a few years ago and there are plans to restore it back to its former pristine condition. The project will see members of the community, government and non government organisations and students working together with a common purpose. Making partnerships with the community is the driving purpose and stemming from this are many other exiting possibilties such as initiating
meaningful cultural learning, driven by the Aboriginal community. This year, a consultation process will begin with plans for suveys and bush regeneration. Anyone keen to be apart of the project should contact Gary Rule at Katoomba High.
